With an 8.2 angular viewing field the 6x30 is one of the widest angle military binoculars made. Lower 6-power not only widens the viewing field but also adds brightness at twilight due to the larger 5 mm exit pupil. Six power also has the advantage of being able to be used easily in a moving vehicle aircraft or in a small boat since the lesser power doesn’t amplify motion like higher power binoculars.
