A new light weight waterproof7x30 Marine Binocular with integral magnetic compass has been developed by Steiner in Germany. Designed as the perfect “Handy Binocular” it is ideal for all types of watercraft including sport fishing boats fresh water bass boats smaller costal sailboats and powerboats that have need for a high performance binocular with a navigational compass for locating fishing hotspots making landfall or general navigation. The 7x30 Navigator Pro weighs only 18 ozs. and incorporates the exclusive Steiner Sports-Auto-Focus system. Once set for the user’s eyes the binocular keeps all objects in focus at distances from approximately 20 yards to infinity. Because of the greater depth of focus field in the Poro-prism 7x30 Navigator Pro the focus feature allows boaters to scan an entire seascape without having to readjust the focus wheel. It can also be faster in locating navigational marks harbor entrances boats and other man made objects when used in conjunction with the integral compass. The 7x30 Navigator Pro comes with a 10 year Limited Warranty to the original owner and it also makes a great back-up or second binocular on board larger craft.”Experienced Boaters and anglers know well the importance of having a good pair of binoculars on board their craft to help navigate and locate hot spots”said Sven Harms North American Vice President for Steiner Binoculars. “As Steiner’s lens and optical technology advances we are always looking to improve the performance of our binoculars. The new light weight 7x30 Navigator Pro is a product of that thinking and the boater is the beneficiary” he said. How to use the distance range reticleDivide the known height of an object by the points read on the reticle scale as seen through the binocular. Assuming the known height of the landmark is in feet the result is the range expressed in thousands of feet. Example: A lighthouse is known to be 150 feet high and appears to be 15 points on the vertical scale of the reticle. 150/15 = 10 so the distance to the lighthouse is 10000 feet.
